I am exhausted… I get irritated by unimportant things. I find that I am being dismissive with my partner and I don’t mean to be. Everything just seems like an effort! All of the beliefs I thought I had and lived by, are being challenged. I feel like my angels and guides have left town since lockdown. Please Help …I just want to be ‘the other’ me again – Love Terry, 46, Jeffrey’s Bay.

Hi Terry – I hear you loud and clear. 2020, together with Corona, has been challenging on so many levels, but then again – challenging does not need to mean bad. It just means – challenging.
Firstly, well done for identifying the feelings of anger, exhaustion, irritation etc. and not wanting them as your constant companions, for they are simply meant to serve as dashboard lights for us to know what to pay attention to in order to create balance again.

Secondly, your angels and guides haven’t left town, quite the contrary actually. They are most likely pressing all those buttons so they can start walking with you to shift a few things to get your ‘update other you’ back on track.

For ultimately that is all it is; not more and not less.

You are feeling thrown out for you have lost control and most things you knew as facts in your life, that had all kind of habits and routines attached, that gave you safety and security, are now not applying any more. As you said: YOU GOT CHALLENGED!

Now challenge is a wonderful thing for it gives us a multitude of options to grow, expand, explore etc., if we choose to embrace it like that, which automatically puts us in action mode and yet it can also be extremely stressful and filled with anxiety, fear, anger, sadness etc. if we choose to align with that.

The brain is automatically trying to re-establish what we had before lockdown, yet that reality will never exist again in exactly that form. It makes us feel powerless for we keep on staring at a closed door instead of saying: OK, I really liked that door but, hey, who says I might not like other doors, paths, avenues equally if not more? And THAT’S what makes all the difference, for it changes the direction from swimming upstream (hence feeling tired and exhausted all the time) to going with the flow and seeing opportunities (energised, hopeful, adventurous, open for growth).

In short, what you concentrate on you get more of. That’s the law of energy. Stop looking at what fell away and start looking at the new and ‘improved’ version that you can create.

So when you get irritated by unimportant things – start purposely spending time on things that feed your soul, bring a smile on your face and lift your mood. It takes the same amount of effort yet the outcome couldn’t be more different. All those beliefs you feel are being challenged, have a look at them, they might need some spring cleaning. Some might be outgrown, some are ready for expansion and there is space for new impulses. Everything is neutral until we attach something to it.

If you feel you are being dismissive with your partner, firstly check in with her to establish if you are not just overthinking and then adjust. Pause before response; that’s all it takes to bring awareness to responses and not just an automated kneejerk reaction of frustration.

The world right now is in a major transformation stage general doomsday thinking is the order of the day. It is easy to get caught in it and go into flight, fight or freeze mode, which ultimately gets us into reaction mode, which feeds the lower energies.

Mind, body and soul are ALWAYS working together, so keep the cycle positive or at least neutral. Change is just that – change!

Transformation is just that – transformation!

You are exactly where you need to be, for we only make changes big enough when we are uncomfortable for long enough. Below are simple, but effective, guidelines to help you along…

 Be very picky with who has access to you. No matter who it is, if they are doomsday on two legs – stay clear.

 Limit media to reduce the lower energies

 Express kindness, gratitude and compassion – to YOURSELF and people around you.

 Watch your language – especially your inner self talk. Your words create your reality.

 Create a new and healthy routine (for mind, body and soul).

 Focus on what you DO want, not what you DON’T want. Thoughts become things

 Have a proper meltdown when you feel like it. Scream, shout, run, do backflips – whatever it takes to get it out of the system and then get going again.

 Have more FUN– life has become way too serious.

 Create a vision. If you don’t know where you are going to, you will lose momentum. Only because times are different doesn’t mean we need to stop having goals and dreams.

 Breathe. Practise deep breathing; it helps with grounding and aligning the chakras.

 Get into nature as much as you can. Get out, walk, swim, hike… CONNECT.

 Cut yourself some slack – you are only human, and we are all just winging it.

Your angels and guides have done overtime all along. Time to join them and don’t forget to ENJOY the ride.
