Q “I am aware that his year has been difficult for all of us in one way or the other. But no matter which hard times I had encountered in the past – I could always clearly have the awareness of my inner voice versus the brain/outer voice. Yet with everything going on this year I seem to have either very clear knowledge of my inner voice or none whatsoever, followed by total confusion and even anxiety. Any advice how to balance this and get off the rollercoaster?” Nomphilo, 38, Western Cape
A. This is a very good question, for this year has indeed been very different for all of us and in very different ways; after all, this year was all about major beginnings and ending combined with a healthy dose of detoxing and letting go.
Where your confusion (or rollercoaster) is coming in, is not being clear which one is the inner/soul voice and which one is the outer/brain one.
With all the fear, anxiety and panic of the world, which has completely over-activated the brain, and literally drowned out the inner voice in many cases, it can be a bit tricky to find a new balance in order to differentiate clearly between the two. Yet those that had been aware of a certain connection and balance before, would have an even higher sense of connectedness and clarity thereof throughout this process. It is all about frequency changes and quite drastic ones as such.
Fear, panic, anger, frustration, depression are low energies caused by disconnecting and having less control of the outer, but also show that we had over-identified with the outer world, it ran US.
Joy, peace, balance, love, understanding, kindness are much higher frequencies which are based on the inside, IRRESPECTIVE of the outer circumstances. It is controlling vs allowing, acting vs being, fear vs trust, forcing vs flexibility, holding on vs letting go.
And there is your rollercoaster, with a multitude of choices, options, terrifying and exhilarating moments. It’s part of the package. Some like rollercoasters, some hate them, some can’t get enough of them.
Spirit world is more active than ever with guidance, messages, synchronicities, repeat number patterns etc. We just need to get into the here and now and pay a little bit of attention. As long as our heads and attention are in the future with all the fear (anxiety etc.) Or in the past with all the regrets (depression etc.), we cannot be in the here and now where connectivity, love, joy, happiness live.
There are also some simple ways to help you differentiate between inner voice and brain until you are used to your new flow.
1) Listen for your heart beat
Put your hands over your ears and listen until you can hear your heart beat. It will force you to shut down the brain and outside noises etc. in order to do so – welcome, you have just arrived in the here and now (anxiety and depression cannot live here).
2) The 1,5 second rule
The brain roughly takes 1,5 seconds to process any kind of new stimulus, your soul is pure energy and frequency and is INSTANT. Which means that anything that you perceive in the first 1,5 seconds is your soul directly communicating with you and anything after that is your brain adding on its five cents’ worth after processing.
3) Yes/No questions
This ties in with the 1,5 second rule. Sit with someone you trust and fire yes /no questions at each other and only give a max of 1,5 seconds to answer. Remember, anything after that – dismiss – it’s the brain and all its ifs and buts.
4) Body pendulum
Stand up, nice and relaxed and asked your body to give you a YES. Don’t overthink it, just let your body do its thing and you will find that you start leaning towards one of the four directions. Once your YES is established, do the same with the NO, which should be a different direction. And there you go – you have the physical feedback and are your own pendulum.
Spirit world can only ever connect with us in the here and now and that’s the place in which we spend the least time. Fear in all its disguises and many forms keeps us away from the NOW. That’s why awareness is so important. What you plant and feed inside right now, right here is what you project into the future. Are you feeding yourself love, hope and kindness? Are you surrounding yourself with like-minded people? Are you breathing properly? Are you watching your INNER self talk? Are you aware what you let into your mind? Body? Soul?
Everything is energy and it can only ever do one of two things, either it feeds you or it depletes you. So just stop for a second and connect with your senses right here and right now to determine which is which and then have more of the one and less of the other.
Your power and connectedness have always been in the here and now.
THAT’S where your superpower lies – within. Always has been and always will be. So if you’re not sure where YOU are with your essence and your purest form, be present, connect with your senses and breathe. You will instantly feel at home, you can’t miss it.
