Why tonal sessions are such a scientifically-sound way of getting in tune.
Fine-tuning one’s frequencies to balance, restore and rejuvenate hits all the right notes. Let’s play the biofield, calibrate and sing the body electric as we infuse our energies with resonance for an incredibly light sense of being.
Unblocking and redirecting energy through chanting and other vibrational sounds has been part of human spirituality for aeons, but it took the pioneering work of Eileen McKusick to put biofield tuning on today’s map as an effective drug-free way to deal with pain and restore systemic balance.
Eileen perfected the use of sound vibrations over 23 years of research by applying tuning forks to the body or biofield, the torus-shaped, energy field surrounding all living things. While orthopaedists have long used tuning forks to detect stress fractures in large bones, Eileen ‒ by using the sound like sonar ‒ found the tones could successfully produce consistent outcomes in modulating the biofield’s physiology.
According to Eileen’s biofield anatomy hypothesis, our biofield, which extends about 1,5m to either side of the body and about three-quarters of a metre above the head, reflects our life’s blueprint in patterns or vibrations. Sound balancing reveals volumes of information relating to our emotional and physical states. Biofield tuning, according to Eileen, is the “syntropic process of bringing lost life force back into our bodies”.
By combing through the biofield, tuning forks magnetically attract particular patterns of light and information. The practitioner picks up subtle sound changes or discordant vibrations via the tonal quality of the flow.
The tuning forks also detect ‘happy experiences’ in the biofield, easily reverberated for an emotional reset that engages all the senses. While we speak of raising or lowering the tone, bear in mind that ‘a low vibration’ is not necessarily synonymous with discordance, as the emphasis is on coherence rather than any cultural context.
When one feels out of sync, the simplest way to get back into alignment is through the body’s inherent music or ‘heart song’. Awakening that inner music through sound therapy can help one tap into – and transform through joy – the electromagnetic flow of information in and around the body. Our true essence, according to Eileen, is ‘electrical’. That’s why we say ‘the light has gone out’ when somebody dies.
Biofield tuning is one of the best ways to awaken the beautiful music so often dulled by discordant patterns caused by our journey through life. By engaging the vibrating symphony of waveforms that make up the body’s electrical and acoustic systems, we can restore harmony, regain our balance and access feelings of clarity and empowerment that guide us back to optimal health.
Our bones are dynamic, crystalline and piezoelectric ‒ the charge that accumulates in crystals and biological matter such as bone, DNA and proteins, in response to applied pressure ‒ meaning that when tuning forks coax our inner music back into coherence within our biofields, we can access our divine blueprints with ease and elegance. Thanks to the body’s crystalline nature, wellbeing is achieved using the body’s natural flow of energy that feeds the nervous system and oxygenates the blood. When the body’s voltage is up, it is naturally ph balanced. This creates a great environment for healthy cell functioning and general wellbeing.
Setting the tone
When the body is ‘out of tune’ the mind can become foggy and compromise the immune system. Gently guiding one’s electromagnetic system back into right order with the biofield tuning method accelerates healing and transformation through restoring our connection with the Divine.
As radiant beings of creation, we each have a unique sound – think of voice recognition technology. Embracing and nurturing our individuality like a finely-tuned instrument within a cohesive orchestra is the way to wellness.
Even the mainstream media now acknowledge that vibrational medicine and subtle-energy sound therapies may help us to avoid a variety of ailments from chronic stress to memory loss, depression, and insomnia. Anyone bio–energetically out of balance can lock into a facilitator’s principles of resonance and entrainment to create a more powerful sound.
According to Eileen, when we create a wounded self-image by identifying with perceived personal slights, we lock this sort of unhelpful information into our biofields, where it can cause repetitive behavioural patterns that do not serve our optimal well being.
The amazing thing about working with tuning forks is that we can find and bring that ‘spilt stuff’ back into resonance in the biofield. She describes it as entropy versus syntropy.
“Entropy is losing order over time, while syntropy is the restoration and creation of order.”
