Keith and Justine McFarlane discovered rebounding in 2002 when Keith studied Lymphology with Dr C Samuel West. At the time, they were teaching natural health courses at their training Academy in JHB, and began including “Lymphasizing” on a mini-trampoline as a health maintenance technique in all of their courses and consultations. Most people had never even heard about rebounding – but their students and clients loved it.

In 2007 they launched ReboundSA and, 14 years later, they are regarded as leaders in their field, with their work having received endorsement and recognition from some of the world’s top health and fitness authorities.  ReboundSA’s rebounders and programmes have also received the coveted ‘Smart Choice’ seal of approval from the Cancer Association of South Africa.
New to the South African market, with no visual media available, this dynamic duo expanded on Keith’s ‘lymphasising’ techniques, working hands-on with clients, in gyms, clinics, corporates, schools, and with therapists; developing routines and video instruction that they continue to expand upon, and which continue to be used by thousands of their clients today. Their dedicated work resulted a bestseller book, Rebounding for Health and Fitness, which, together with their videos, is sold locally and internationally.
So powerful were these videos that the world’s leading rebound researcher-developer and author, Albert E Carter, sent Keith this message: “I watched with joy your rebound exercise DVD. It shows that you and Justine really do understand the amazing world of rebound exercise.  It is a work that I would recommend to anyone who wants to look better and feel better”.
2013 saw the launch of the ReboundSA Instructor Trainers’ Course and, to date, over 300 instructors have been trained throughout SA, both with in-class training and online distance training courses, now hosted by FitPro (the Institute of Fitness Professionals).
In February this year, ReboundSA and CANSA launched the very first national rebounding event in SA, where 20 ReboundSA-trained instructors/studios participated in South Africa’s first national ‘Bounce-A-Thon’. Over 500 participants bounced to raise more than R50 000 for CANSA and there is a call for this event to be hosted regularly.
Personal and client experience has proven that bouncing creates such a positive energy in and around your body that it can attract positive events into your life. Keith was invited to present his ‘Cell Power’ talk on rebounding at the Robin Banks Mind Power Seminars. Robin is an avid rebounder and said that he “loves the quality and smooth bounce” of ReboundSA’s HealthBouncePro rebounder.
Renowned breast cancer surgeon Prof Carol Ann Benn called in to a radio show during an interview with Keith and confirmed that rebounding was an effective exercise in recovery from and prevention of cancer, later confirming this on one of ReboundSA’s DVDs.

“The global  pandemic has  brought along with it many challenges and it has been uplifting to witness how the ReboundSA-trained instructors turned to Zoom to survive. “We were able to pop in to classes around SA and watch how these awesome instructors had grown and evolved into their own unique styles. Lockdown also offered us the time to finish a few of our long-awaited projects and programmes, which include children’s rebound programmes that we conceptualised and started work on in 2007, which will be released this year, confirmed Justine

“We’ve taken rebounding into so many different areas and discovered how it can benefit people of all levels of health and fitness, in a variety of situations,” says Keith, “but our priority has always been to ensure we offer the best rebounders available.”  Find out more: www.reboundsa.co.za
