Nature contact for root chakra anchoring

Lilies grow in mud and water, to flourish in earth’s abundance and air for oxygen, carbon dioxide release and the abundance of nature, all encompassed within the SourceField. Touching the earth with hands, feet and whole body, rolling around or slithering like a snake on grass, sand or playing in water, touching the floor of a river or natural dam. Flow with water while connecting with – and on – the earth, being one with all the elements.

“All natural healers know about connecting with the Earth for health and wholeness. This is a summary of research to ‘prove’ what we, as humanoids, animals, plants, know intuitively, as well as some new thoughts that might lead you to ponder!”

Meta-analyses of multi-disciplinary research studies have clearly shown the evidence-based conclusions of the multiple health benefits of daily earthing (grounding) practice for healing mind, body and soul and restoring balance, homeostasis and integration in the whole system of living on Earth for all living beings.

Electromagnetic conductive contact of the human body with the surface of the Earth produces fascinating effects on physiology and health. Some examples are the effect of grounding on inflammation, immune response, wound healing, sleeping patterns, pain, prevention and treatment of chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

The process of earthing takes time, sustainability, persistence and daily practice to be truly effective. Make the commitment to yourself… it’s worth it!

Grounding or earthing means direct skin contact with the surface of the Earth, e.g. with bare feet or hands, or the whole body connecting to grass, sand or water in the sea or a natural dam or standing under a waterfall, or with various grounding systems. Connecting skin to the Earth enhances health and provides feelings of wellbeing, even joy and deep harmony.

Simple conductive systems.
What you need and how to use it:

  • Sheets, mats, wrist or ankle bands with metallic adhesive patches to place on – and in – them. These can be used inside the home or office and inside your footwear.
  • The applications are connected to the Earth via a cord inserted into a grounded wall outlet or attached to a ground rod placed in the soil outside below a window.
  • For the footwear applications, a conductive plug is positioned in the shoe sole at the ball of the foot, under the metatarsals, at the acupuncture point known as Kidney 1.
  • From a practical standpoint, these methods offer a convenient and routine, user-friendly approach to grounding or earthing.
  • A practical, affordable process will be discussed and explained further on.

Grounding reduces and prevents the symptoms and signs of inflammation following injury: Redness, heat, swelling, pain and loss of function.  If this process does its work over a short period to promote healing and repair, it does what the acute inflammatory process’s physiological function is. But when it is not switched off after the acute situation is over, it becomes chronic and, like a runaway train, leads to disaster and all human chronic disease such as diabetes, hypertension, metabolic syndrome, arthritis, autoimmune diseases, respiratory disease, inflammatory bowel and gut diseases, cancer, macular degeneration and retinopathy. And these are just a few examples!

Researchers indicate that connecting the body to the Earth enables free electrons from the Earth’s surface to spread over and into the body, where they can have antioxidant effects. (Read about antioxidants on our website.) Mobile electrons create an antioxidant microenvironment by donating electrons around the injury repair field, slowing down, or preventing reactive oxygen species (free radicals) delivered by the oxidative turbulence, from causing collateral damage to healthy tissue. Electrons from the Earth can prevent or resolve dormant inflammation. All living beings also have a reciprocal magnetic connection with the Earth.

Grounding improves sleep, therefore normalises the day–night circadian rhythm by lowering cortisol levels from the adrenal glands and elevating melatonin secretion from the pineal gland. It reduces pain, distress, shifts the autonomic nervous system from sympathetic (stress) to parasympathetic relaxation drive, increases heart rate variability, accelerates wound healing and reduces blood viscosity (‘stickiness’).

Use a cotton sheet with conductive carbon or silver threads woven into it, or get metallic duct tape to lay over and across your mattress forming a cross. Stick one end of a soft copper wire to the duct tape with masking tape, then guide the wire out of the bedroom window or through the wall and insert the copper wire into the Earth near a healthy plant and water in a pond, or pottery bowl filled with water.

Thermography used to monitor inflammation response
Medical thermal imaging is a type of medical imaging technology that uses infrared cameras to visualise heat patterns and other thermal energy emitted by the body. This type of imaging is used to diagnose a wide range of medical conditions, such as circulation issues, nerve damage and inflammation. By capturing thermal images of the body, medical professionals can detect changes in temperature that may indicate the presence of underlying medical issues. Medical thermal imaging can be used to measure the effects of grounding exercises on the body. Medical thermal imaging can detect changes in temperature, which can indicate the presence of underlying inflammation. After a grounding exercise has been completed, medical professionals can use thermal imaging to measure the changes in temperature and a decrease in mottling in specific areas of the body. This can help determine if the grounding exercise had a positive effect on the body. The results from medical thermal imaging can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of grounding exercises.

Lifestyle and earthing
Insulating footwear, high-rise buildings and elevated beds, separate most humans from direct skin connection with the Earth’s surface. An earth connection was an everyday reality in past cultures that used animal skins for footwear and to sleep on. Antioxidants are electron donors and the best electron donor is right under our feet: The electromagnetic field surface of the Earth, with its virtually unlimited storehouse of accessible electrons. Electrons from the Earth may, in fact, be the best antioxidants, with no negative secondary effects, because our body evolved to use them over eons of physical contact with the ground. Our immune systems work optimally as long as electrons are available to balance the free radical (reactive oxygen species) and reactive nitrogen species, used when fighting infection and tissue damage.

Our modern lifestyle has taken the body and the immune system by surprise by suddenly depriving it of its primordial electron source. This planetary separation began accelerating in the early 1950s with the advent of shoes made with insulating rubber soles instead of the traditional leather made from animal skin. Lifestyle challenges to our immune systems proceeded faster than evolution could accommodate.

The disconnection from the Earth is an important, insidious and overlooked contributor to physiological dysfunction and to the disturbing global rise in inflammatory-related chronic diseases. A lack of electrons disturbs the electron transport chains in mitochondria (power generators inside each of our 50 trillion cells), leading to chronic fatigue because of cellular fuel regeneration. When electron balancing and donation are not available, the inflammatory process runs haywire. Areas that are electron deficient are vulnerable to further injury – they become positively charged (they become free radical species) and will have difficulty protecting against infections. The result is an immune system overwhelmingly hyper activated, eventually becoming exhausted.

Enter the Schumann resonance
This is a set of spectrum peaks in the extremely low frequency (ELF) portion of the Earth’s electromagnetic field spectrum. Schumann resonances are global electromagnetic resonances, generated and excited by lightning discharges in the cavity formed by the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere.

The frequencies, created from thunderstorms and lightning, range from 7.83 Hz, called the Earth’s ‘heartbeat’, to 33.8 Hz.

The primary resonance is at a frequency of about 8 Hz – eight trips around the planet per second. The resonance is maintained by the combined effect of all the lightning flashes on Earth – between 40 and 50 per second.

Electromagnetic frequencies resonate with the human energy field and recalibrate the human energy systems (actually all living things). Earthing facilitates this process – from universal SoulStar to earthstar, up and down in an eternal spiral of connection. It is important to include water, rocks and crystals.

This is the eternal expansion of the soul wanting to grow and create magic and miracles. Spirit/GodSource transforms us all, if we’re willing, open and ready to receive what is ours, through electromagnetic and crystalline (e.g. torus field of the heart – refer my article in previous issue of Odyssey) earth-based energy waves.

Examples of crystals to support earthing/grounding

  • Hematite
  • Obsidian

Essential oils to support grounding

Put 5-10 drops of about two of these in a bath with a cup of Epsom salts, or in a burner while you bath, or meditate outside sitting on grass, with some of the above crystals around you.

  • Lavender essential oil for grounding and relaxation, as well as connection and attuning to your energy centres from pineal gland to SoulStar and up in an ever spiralling connection up and down into EarthStar.
  • Chamomile
  • Vertiver
  • Ylang ylang
  • Patchouli
  • Bergamot
  • Frankincense

Moving on the Earth
Dancing, stamping bare feet, create a rhythm and beat, gum boot dancing – earth connection – joy of movement, feet as hands touching the earth. Singing, sounding low tones, simply sounding – resonating with earth harmonics. Our souls want us to dance, whoop and shout. Music allows us to bypass the logical loops in our brains, for whole-brain functioning through Earth connection. Direct contact with the surface of our Earth is the battery charger for all life on Planet Earth.

“In stillness and in quiet listening, I can hear the hymns of gratitude the world is singing underneath the sounds of fear’” – A Course in Miracles.
